Alignment ... Not Just for Automobiles and Chiropractors

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I'm not sure about that, but it sure makes communication quicker...



Let's define alignment as an understanding of and buy-in to the direction of the organization. This only happens when strategy is identified, clearly articulated, communicated frequently and rewarded.

If you have been in an organization like "C", you know the frustration of no progress. If you are in organization "B", you are in better shape than most. If you are in organization "A", I hope that you are publicly traded and have lots of stock options. Oh, by the way... your arrow has to be pointed in the right direction. 
  
A very bright guy with a Ph.D. described this concept to me in terms of vector math. I'll stick to pictures...
